Marrit van den Heuvel

As a portfolio manager at imec.xpand, Marrit is responsible for following up how her portfolio companies are doing. For spin-off cases, this starts even before incorporation. She loves setting up her companies for success and exploring where she can support them along their path to growth.

Marrit has a background in communications and business and loves the intersection of research and entrepreneurship. She’s driven by the societal impact that can be created by valorising innovation through startups.

imec.xpand is an early-stage VC fund targeting ambitious semiconductor startups. The fund invests across the full value chain, from the necessary infrastructure to application domains like AI, life sciences, robotics and aerospace. imec.xpand has an outspoken international mindset towards building disruptive global companies. As an example, this reverse pitch will look at the case of Pulsify Medical, a flexible ultrasound patch company that spun out of imec in 2019.
