Prof. Diethard Monbaliu is an abdominal transplant surgeon at UZ Leuven and associate professor at KU Leuven. He specialises in liver, kidney, pancreas and intestinal transplantation, and combines clinical expertise with a deep interest in the history and future of medicine.
In his Thursday session, Diethard brings together three worlds: the legacy of Andreas Vesalius, the evolution of medical anatomy and the future-facing experience of the new Vesalius Museum in Leuven, opening this winter.
Through a live demonstration on an interactive digital dissection table, he will show how the way we study, understand and teach the human body continues to evolve.
