Prof. Dr. Gert Van Assche is Medical Director of UZ Leuven and Professor at KU Leuven.
Alongside his role in the hospital’s management, he is a gastroenterologist and researcher with extensive experience in clinical care and the translation of medical innovation into practice. He is also a promoter of Clin-IC, KU Leuven and UZ Leuven’s programme for developing medtech solutions around real patient needs.
Together with Bart De Greef, he will look beyond the next treatment or device and ask where health technology should be heading. What if more investment moved towards prevention, early detection and keeping people healthy for longer?
